This is the VISTA programme:

VISTA is a basic research programme financed by the Norwegian state owned energy company Equinor, and executed in close cooperation with The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.

The objective of the programme is to develop and enhance mutual interaction between Equinor and basic research communities in Norway, through these measures:

• ensuring effective, interdisciplinary communication between Equinor and Norwegian basic research communities, through The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.

• stimulating and supporting Norwegian scientists and basic research within prioritized research fields that are relevant to Equinor and their work.
• ensuring effective organizing and qualified recruitment of basic research projects.

Since its inception in 1985, the programme has granted a total of 300 million NOK to young researchers and professorates.
