The board would like to use this information to consider funding of new projects. In addition, the VISTA-board intends to make the VISTA program more known in the relevant areas.

The board visited UNIS and was given an orientation by Director Gunnar Sand at UNIS, including visits to Longyearbyen CO2 Lab and Eiscat.  as well as a visit to Ny-Ålesund and Kings Bay AS. Director Ole Øiseth presented Kings Bay AS as a research arena, and arranged visits to AWIPEV, Norwegian Polar Institute, and the Norwegian Mapping Authorities.
The board also had the possibility to visit the Global Seed Vault with Ola Westengen, operating coordinator.
