The VISTA programme

VISTA - a research cooperation between the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and Statoil.

VISTA was formed in 1985 and is focusing on research related to Statoil's current and future fields of interest.

VISTA support three forms of research fellowships; Ph. D, post doctorals and VISTA professor.

Current research are within these target areas:

• Oil and gas processing
• Exploration
• Improved oil recovery
• Environment
• Biotechnology
  

The goal of the collaboration is specified in these targets:

• through the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters to establish efficient and multidisciplinary communication between Statoil and Norwegian basic research communities
• to stimulate and promote Norwegian scientists and basic research communities in priority areas

• to ensure efficient organisation and competent human resources in basic research projects.
